Victoria would like to introduce…

her new sister.

Although I technically didn’t need another wheel (technically, we don’t really need wheels at all, do we?) since Victoria is a pretty good little workhorse, I really wanted a little larger wheel for around the house (Victoria puts up with a lot) and one which was less prone to the antics of wild boys and boy dogs.  Victoria goes to shows with me sometimes and I really didn’t want her looking like she’d been around the bend a few too many times, YKWIM?  Not that they intentially bang her up or anything, but things do happen.  So far, she’s been lucky and escaped unscathed, but, I don’t like to rely on possibilities entirely.  I would rather plan for a situation where it was less likely to happen.  ie. where she can be more regularly stashed away in her protective case because she’s not the full-time wheel in the house.

I don’t have a ton of space and I still needed portability (I love to spin on the back deck or the front porch in the warmer months) so I didn’t want to get into a large traditional wheel.

I’d heard so many good things about the Schacht line, too… so… here she is.  Cal from Shuttleworks provides awesome service.  :)

However I want to justify it, Ms. Ladybug is now a resident.  :)  It’s nice to have another girl around the house.  :)

And she’s already doing plying duty after less than 48 hours here.

A nice shot of the girls together.

Aside from drooling over a new wheel, I’ve been fairly dutifully working away at some knitting….

These are to check how some dyeing came out (not quite what I wanted, but I will wear them so they are on the needles at the moment  - Cookie A.’s BFF Socks).

And, Tangled progress.  :)  She’s actually got one band now; still working on the buttonhole side but nearly there.  Here she is just after finishing the cables:

Then, blocked, pre-bands:

And, of course, having still not learned how to ‘quit while one is ahead’ I cast on another sweater (in the spirit of NaKniSweMoDo - I know, I’m probably insane thinking I can actually do it, but, OTOH, never hurts to try :))…

Yes, it’s Wisteria, from Twist Collective, in Louet Riverstone, which is very nice to work with.  I’m thinking of bringing it into the shop as a regular offering.  I’m currently finishing up the cabling along the waistline.  It works up fairly quickly.

And of course, that’s only a smattering of what’s on the needles of the moment, but those are currently the most active projects.  I do hope, despite the typically crazy pace around here, to post more FOs this year since all of the half-finished projects are not doing anyone any favours lying about unfinished in one of the many project boxes in this office.

We will see!
