gah…
see, time keeps getting on.
i can’t keep on top of it lol. ever typically, i have mondo going on. i suppose i would probably do much better if i wasn’t chasing a two-year-old for half the day. thankfully he still takes naps! Sam is just a little fireball of fun (and sneakiness) these days, one of those kids who you can’t really take your eyes off of for a second. well and he’s darn cute. ;) i know, however, if he ever got out the front door on his own he would head for downtown without a glance over his shoulder. exploring is his thing, as is pushing limits on a regular basis… sigh, i’m tired just thinking about it.
if i’d had twins as are known to run in my family i think i would probably be certifiable… well, i certainly wouldn’t have any ‘other’ jobs on the side. ;) the great thing is, Ben is fairly self-sufficient and very helpful with the little guy. i am quite thankful for that; i probably don’t mention that to him enough.
anyways…
things ARE progressing, however haphazardly. there will be pics one of these days (how OFTEN do i say that, anyways?). i am part of a craft fair this weekend which is a great motivator. i am getting things out of the dye-bath and off the needles on a daily basis. i just haven’t had much time to take pics. but i will, since otherwise, i don’t have pics for patterns, do i?
i did take time out to attend the CreativFestival on the weekend… holy scrapbooking, batman… a bit disappointing on the knitting scale, not so much for the quality of vendors who were there (Fiona Ellis’ show was fab, courtesy of Needles & Knits) but more so that there were not many of them. and of course, seeing what was there in gorgeous knitted display reminded me of all the UFOs sitting here in my drawer which never quite got out of the drawer this summer. mind you, spending most of June running to the hospital and July and August planning/packing/moving and September unpacking and decorating and general mumbo change-of-address stuff (where IS my DL, MTO? i’m waiting…) and all that fun stuff which goes with a move made even more exciting by provincial transfers are all good excuses for having things wind up on the back-burner, but still…
anyways, in the end, at the CreativFestival, i purchased only 4 skeins of nifty lace-weight in fun fab limey-olivey green and tangerine (nearly got into a squabble over the green skeins — another customer wanted to trade but i was not giving, they were in my paws already; thankfully we found a few for her as well in the bottom of the display baskets — phew, i really don’t want to feel like i ruined someone’s knitting desires lol)… yes i was being a bit frugal, but also looking for something i don’t work with often. i will have to scout out the card for the vendor; neat stuff, a newer indi-type company, really fresh ideas. unfortunately my nearly forty-year-old brain doesn’t recall names very well. i know the company had ‘wool’ in the title (go figure, eh?). :P
ok, so, back to knitting even tho it’s nearly midnight…my eyes will still focus [barely] so i must take advantage of that concept lol).
