whew…
made it through the xmas holiday intact. :) kept it relatively low-key this year, sticking close to home (even tho i was pretty homesick for family in Ontario) which limited the stress imposed.
yay
had a lovely bird for dinner on xmas day…

(had to take a pic, he just browned up so nicely).
lookie…

do i have a nice hubs or what? this is his invented and handcrafted version of a ball-winder/skeiner, crafted out of oak. was under the xmas tree…works swell! thanks, hon. :))
tonight is another ’stay in’ night (we’re oldish and have small children, what can i say lol). looking forward to sending out the old and ringing in the new year with brother/BIL/uncle John passing through on his way back to AB. hoping to get a good start on some socks — good hockey knitting before our planned yummy sausage dindin. inbetween we’re catching the Rock101 top 1001 of all time (attempting to keep any 70s flashbacks at bay in the process ;)).
FOs…
the cecilia scarf complete:

kind of in the ’scribble lace’ vein… will stretch a little length-wise. i think i’m going to do another version in non-stocking stitch (well, never mind ‘i think’ … i know lol… bought some Lily Chin mohairy stuff to try it out).
and…

bit blurry but going no-flash meant better definition of the pattern.
amongst these have been obsessing over bi-coloured brioche stuff… fun to work. :)
okie, off to some lunch and then casting on those sox… going to do the famous Jaywalkers (in Confetti, DGB), and the new leaf patterned ones from the Fall 2005 IK (in Fleece Artist)… i know, lofty ideals, but i need some decent sox, and i needed to knit someone else’s patterns for once (so much more relaxing than designing).
wishing everyone Brightest Blessings in 2006
